Besides the breakout box and 2 more inputs, is there any other differences?? Small price difference between the two. Should I spring for the delta or audiophile? Will be used for recording. I have a SB Live for audio monitoring. Thanks!

Aug 09, 2004 09:14 am Yes, the Audiophile also has S/PDIF ins and outs and MIDI ins and outs. They are pretty much indentical drivers, sound quality and latency and such...
Aug 09, 2004 09:56 am Yeah, I thought they were pretty indentical except for the few qualities that I meantioned. Since I do not need 4 tracks, I might as well go with the audiophile 2496 unless someone can give me a good reason to get the delta 44. Thanks Db!

Aug 14, 2004 03:56 pm it all depends on whether or not you want to multitrack and use midi.
delta 66 allows for 6 chan multitracking inlcuding the stereo S/PDIF, but no MIDI
delta 44 allows for 4 chan multitracking, no midi
audiophile 24/96 offers only stereo multitracking but has midi
but it sounds like you dont care about multitracking, just recording... so i'd go with the auiophile since it has both MIDI and S/PDIF capabilities.
