dB, Sorry about posting a question in soapbox article on Steinberg VST.

Do you still feel the same way about VST networking, today as you did back in 2002? I have ordered a 2nd HDD for the new computer. First one for programs etc. The other for audio storage. I had wondered whether having a second or third cheaper computer networked might also be an economic and useful option.

Also thanks for your help earlier in the year and to all the other helpful contributors. As you see we have made a few purchases and since we knew a little about what we were doing, most of what we bought was bought on special.

Kind regards,
BoysMum

I still thinks shared computing power is a great technology, yes. However, there are other solutions to the typical issues that a studio faces regarding computing power such as bigger CPU's, dual CPU's in one PC, DSP processing cards to handle effects processing and more.

That said, very few home studio owners ever need it if they have a PC that runs at decent Ghz speeds.
