Anyone happen to know of any or have any by chance? I am looking for something in VST, RTAS, or Audiosuite format if you guys have any ideas.
Mainly looking to tackle vocals. Thanks

Because of the difficulty writing a program like that, (its not like an eq, reverb, chorus type thing, which is pretty simple in comparison ) I dont think you will find a free one, at least one that would be worthy.

yeah, just wondered if anyone had heard of anything that was being developed by any smaller companies though. I have found many other cool free plugs on kvr-vst.com before which is why I ask. No big deal. I will probably just download the demo version of Auto Tune when I get ready to do the vocals and just use the 10 day version. :)
Yeah, I know they are complex to develop. I have actually tried writing a couple before with no success. It takes a very large development team to make them work.
el musico: Did you pick up the free plugins on Digi's website? There is a cool one by Izotope on there called Vinyl that I found useful. I didn't dig the free Bomb Factory plugs though. Found out they were more trouble than they are worth.

Jun 20, 2004 12:16 pm no i haven't yet... i should look into it. the free bomb factory ones are ok if you need them like the vu meter i've used before... mostly utility type plugs.
does the vinyl one add warmth or does it add record noise (or both)?

Jun 20, 2004 01:39 pm yeah, I wasn't terribly amused with the Bomb Factory ones myself. I wish they would let you install the compressor as a stand alone. :)
The vinyl one has a cool thing that allows you to add the noise and the warmth. It has this little thing where you can make it sound like a record from the 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, or 2000. It has a pretty detailed way of doing things for what I expected from it. You can even adjust the rpm speed on there just like an old record player. :)
