the hafler ta-1600 works well, but i'm not sure of your wattage needs.

Well...I just bought a pair of passives. My wattage is 150 peak 120 programmed. Guy at Guitar Center recommended and Alesis RA300 for about $280...Then showed me the spec. book to tell me that, that specific amp wasn't enough for my needs. So he sold me a brand new Hafler P3000 for $300, last one in stock, brand new. Hafler is pretty spendy...retail for $780. Now on sale for about $560.
Like the last user posted...You need to know your watts and your ohms. Then that should determine what amp you need to make your monitors kick......Good Luck

sorry.. each speaker is rated at 75 watts and the nominal impedance is 8ohms.

now what amps do you suggest?

This will sound sarcastic, but it's not meant to be...but an amp that puts out 75 watts on an 8ohm load.

The Alesis RA150 puts out 45 watts at 8ohms, the RA300 puts out 90 watts at 8ohms. 45 watts each side should be more than enough for any control room...since you really should monitor at comfortable listening levels.

Samson servo 260 I believe is better than the Alesis power amps. I had an Alesis with the NS-10's I used to have, and it was real unsatisfactory to me. The Samson was excellent, and dead quiet. Its always better to overpower than to underpower, even if its overkill.

Glad I got rid of those Yamahas, many people relish those, but they have a real bad assessment curve while monitoring. There were many mixes I had to redo after getting some more accurate ones....(blah blah, Im ranting)

Time to go to work...
