keyboard

Hi everyone,

This one's a bit vague, but I thought I would throw something out there. I want to buy a keyboard, nothing too expensive, but something that plays and records like a piano (and has piano keys). Can anyone recommend anything that really works for them and is reliable?

Thanks,
Ale.

Do want keys weighted like piano keys? ALso, do you want a keyboard that has sounds built into it, or just a controller to use external sound modules or your PC to get it's sounds?

Yes, I do want keys weighted like piano keys, and yes, I do want sounds built into it. Unless it's better to let my PC do that. Err, not sure really. Help.

Roland and Yamaha make the best paino weighted stage pianos out there. They are however not cheap. Visit their sites and take a look at what they have. Kurzwiel also makes a good stage piano, but they are a bit more expensive yet.

Alesis is pretty good. I have an Alesis DG8 that works great live but for recording, not exactly what I'm looking for. I'm going to play the QS8.2 tomorrow to see if I like that.

Yep, Roland and Yamaha have a great sound. Love the string sample on the Yamaha's.

Hi again,

I am thinking of buying an alesis QS8.2 - just wondering if anyone has tried it/has one and what they're like.

Cheers,
Ale.

I played it over the weekend and absolutly loved it. Had a great deal on ebay but when I came back to buy it, someone else got it. I was so mad I about "Hulk-ed" out (hence my title).

The weird string sounds was amazing, that's what really got my attention
