Uuuuummmmmm, ya I would say to get a better sound card (but that is standard advice to anyone with a gamer-type sound card), but what are you recording? Any effects thrown in the mix? What do you mean low? Low like bassy or low like quiet?

What kind of microhpone are you using, what instruments are you recording and what is your exact signal path from instrument to Cubase?

And all those sources give the bassy sound? Well, then it seems to me it is probably in your signal path, you must have an EQ for the SB set with the lows boosted or something like that. Those are three very different types of sources, and if they are all giving you that low sound, I would say to go through all your SB settings and all of Cubases master settings.

There has to be a low frequency boost in there somewhere.

Ya, what I jusy said, go through your signal path and check all the setting, look at your SB control pannel and see how the EQ is set, look at your mixer and see how the EQ on that is set, look for any "bass boost" settings anywhere and see if they are enabled, if they are, disable them.
