Hey, alright, here's the situation. I've been to school for production and was taught a whole bunch of stuff on recording gear but unfortunatly I didn't learn much of mastering at all. I'm basically looking for some insight on what exactly is done when mastering. What kind of signal processing do you use and what are typical parameters for them? i.e: compression thresholds and ratios etc. I'm using cubase sx and my peaks are nearing 0 but I guess in between them it's just much lower... -6db. Anyway any insight/help/mastering tips/tricks would be greatly appreciated. I know the basic idea of what is trying to be accomplished while mastering I just don't know how to do it. Thanks...
Jon
