Feb 09, 2004 06:11 pm did you put the output from the compressor back to the aux return on your mixer?

Feb 09, 2004 09:38 pm the best way to do this is to use it as an insert point. You need a stereo TRS y cable. Run the stereo jacks into the in and out of the compressor, and put the remaining jack into the insert point on the channel you wish to compress. This will be before fader and eq I think, so the signal will go straight to the compressor then back into the channel strip.
Feb 09, 2004 10:00 pm You are probably just mixing the uncompressed signal with the compressed signal unless the auxes are on pre-fader and the faders are down. Just put the compressor after your mixer's outputs if you don't have inserts. That's how I do it. And have patience-- It is one of the most important things you're going to need when pursuing this kind of thing.
