Hey all... i just got a behringer ecm8000 measurement mic and i'm off to tune my console room... this is my first time at this and i believe i have everything down as far as steps, but you know things always come up during the process so i was wondering just how many of you have experience and/or tips with doing this?

What i'll be doing is taking mic measurements of pink noise (constant amplitude) from mixing postion, using the mic and RTA, then i should be able to get an eq to help correct things with my mix. I would take that eq, put it on the master fader at the end of the signal chain to help with the mix, of course bypassing it when tracking/rendering the tracks right?

for those new to this as i am, i'll post results if you want.

thanks guys.

I think that's what Noize has, not sure tho, he should be back in town by this evening, if I talk to him I will alert him to your inquiry.

personally, my tuning has always just been ringing out the room and using my ears. However, now that my 5.1 setup is functional again I plan to get the SPL meter with a pink noise generator and set it up right, so I am anxious to hear of your experience.

That is what I use. The UltraCurve Pro 8024 with the upgraded software. I just updated it to the newest firmware and it is better then before. Although Now I gotta rip into it and replace the battery before I loose all the stuff in its memorey. But otherwise it is a great unit, I am very pleased with it as I did get a fair bargain on it.
