alright after connecting my phonics mixer up I set up the effects loop as I usually do, same way I did on my yamaha board, but now when I run the efeects loop the result is distortion, which is odd because nothing in my racks hould be making distortion, all that's in there is reverb, a sampler, and a compressor... anyone know what could be causing the unwanted distortion?

Have you checked the cables? Is it distortion, as in the pretty dirty rock sound, or is it static, as in the unpleasant yukey sound? A cable may be creating it, or perhaps you gain staging is wrong and clipping somewhere in the chain...

Does your new board have different or selectable insert volume specifications? Could you be overdriving the new board?
