Preamp/compressor for new microphone

Hi everyone,
I'm thinking of buying a new condensor mic (Behringer B1 probably). I have a Behringer mx602a mixer, and I was wondering whether I should buy a pre amp (such as the ART Tube MP Studio V3), or just use the preamps on the mixer. Is there a difference in quality?

It also seems that if I get a condesor mic I really need some sort of compressor. I was tossing up between the Behringer AUTOCOM PRO MDX1400 or ART TubeComp. Any thoughts?

Another option is to get both a preamp and compressor in one unit (ART Tube Pac).

Your ideas on the best (and hopefully cheapest) approach will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Andrew

well a pre-amp is a better way to go than just running it to your mixer . I own a grip of behriger gear and I've had no problems with the stuff , I have the B-1 and a few of there compressors , but you may want to look at the Ultra voice Pro buy behriger ( it's in your price range ) . I have not used any Art products ,it looks to be mixed reviews on them ( but so is it with about anything) . Bottom line a Pre amp + a new mic you're going to hear the difference in you recordings.

Show me to the beer....

I use a TF pro P3 pre amp. This has compression and equalization built in.
