Jul 26, 2003 02:58 pm well I guess I'm the big Behringer guy here , I have an autocom and a composer pro and both have been nice to me so far , behringer bilds there stuff like a tank . As for quality ,well I've used the popular DBX compressors and I've messed with some high end ones too , and I would say Behriger you get more than you pay for most of the time . You are getting a decent compressor , it works well in a prject studio and with live gigs ,but don't expect the quality you would get out of a 1000$+ compressor , for the price it's one of the best ones in it's catigory.
Jul 26, 2003 04:11 pm the DJ i saw last night had a Composer limiting his mix. First time I've seen one up close. Just looking at it it seemed to be well built.

Jul 28, 2003 10:25 am I have an Autocom MDX 1600 Pro and like it a lot.
The expander/gate is really good. The compressor section is clean if used moderately and the limiter is very effective. I never use the enhacer and the de-eser.
In short, I found it to be a clean unit with a lot of features for the price.
As Geoff said, donĀ“t expect to find the character that an expensive unit can impart to the sound but after all, if you (like me) need an all purpose compressor, the 1600 is a very decent unit.
