mother board and cpu

hey guys i just got a new mother board and cpu (acuuly my dad bought it for me) but i don't know if its going to be good for recording....i got a AMD XP 1700 socket A CPU, and a MICROSTAR K7T TURBO With AUDIO...and for my sound card i'm still using my e mu aps...i'm going to get a new one soon but is this a good set up

Ya, it look decent, but disable that onboard audio chip, nothing onboard i sever very good, your EMU is much better. Ya got plenty of power now, that's for sure.

The APS is really good but later, when you can afford it, you ought to get a truly high end card such as the Delta 1010, Ardvaark Q10, lynxONE, or the MOTU stuff. Dont know how experienced you are so its hard to say what is 'a good setup' or not, but what you have so far is a great start. Get a good condenser mic, preamp and quality cables and you'll be good to go.
