I started experimenting with tight Low/high pass filtering on some of these vocal parts and I think it worked pretty well. I'd love some suggestions though, if you have time.

In my profile, still haven't figured out how to direct link :-P

You had a video for this song before?

I'm assuming the "Ohs" are the vocals you put the filters on?
They don't sound bad. Vocals in general seem like they could come a bit more to the front of the mix just a touch, in my opinion.

Side note: I'm dying of laughter right now as one of the "Related Forum Topics" is "Cocofromscotland complains about fireworks- as read by tonyd"

Doh! I forgot I already posted this song here, but this is a completely new recording. Same songwriter, different band, new recording. I agree on the vocals though, already tweaked 'em. Thanks! Are we friends on FB already? I posted a real strange one that I am working on. Some hardcore delta blues with Ladysmith Black Mambazo influence. It's corny, just the way I like it, hah.

Probably we are not friends on facebook since I'm not on facebook.
Would love to hear it though.

How do you get a different band to record the same song? Isn't there like a problem with rights or whatever? Like, are they both cool with it?

I like the other mix with the other band better, it sounded bigger and cooler.

And I don't really like the oo's with the high/low pass filters. They kinda come out of nowhere.

The band broke up before we released these songs, and the songwriter moved back to his old band...the one in this recording. Thanks again for your help there Mike, I wish we could have done something more with that. Ill review the vocal filtering and rethinkcthe mix. The musicianship in this group is on a different level than the group from the last recording. I must need to get my act together!

My weird bluesy song is on WWW.soundcloud.com/mrquincy. Its the first two in my songlist (monster...) that I'm working on. Prepare to giggle.

My humor stopped maturing in 3rd grade, I just use bigger words before the fart noises now. There's parts in 4/4 and 6/8 though, which is what I really dig about it. I hope to do more like that. Like Meshuggah arrangements with Mississippi Fred McDowell guitars and Bonham drums. I've been meaning to do a kinda cerebral hardcore delta blues project in a style like this with the intention to make it a live band. Maybe I will now...I certainly hope so.
