Hello, Home Studio software minds

I have a major problem that i hope someone can help me solve. I have a 2003 compaq presario laptop that I am running a Sonar XL version 7 Home studio on. I have managed to create my first CD with lots of pitfalls. My studio software is worst now. It will not playback or record a track or tracks without DROPOUTS. This is were the software stops working and won't start again until I change the ISO's. Then it only works for a minute or so before doing the same thing again and again and again. I have also deleted this Sonar software and reinstalled it twice Thinking it would clear out all projects and songs made and go back to store bought state, but all my save songs and projects on Sonar appear back when reinstallments are done and I still have the DROPOUT problem. Can anyone tell me what the problem is and how I can solve it? Do I need a better computer? Is this a computer processor problem or software problem? I so need to get back to recording and creating music to help the soul of man. You help will be greatly appreciate.

you need to change your latency. Look this up in "help" in sonar.
the low latency you currently are using is too low for playback, good for recording, not good for playback. you change the latency as you need it.
