Ok, so I've been reading and re-reading through the manual and surfing the net for help on this topic, I might have missed something, but I'm really at my wits end.

Basically, when I want to record my vocals and monitor it through my headphones, I have my music player plugged into the "Tape In" with the RCA cable. To hear the music, I have to turn up the "Tape Level", which unfortunately, gets recorded into the mix also. The mixer doesn't seem to have any other control knob or button for the removal of the tape input from the recording, and I'm not really certain if there is any other way for me to listen to both the music input as well as my recorded vocals without the input being recorded as well.

Any insight would really be appreciated

Hmmm, you might be able to do it if you are convert from RCA to 1/4" inputs and then use Aux send somehow... I'm not sure exactly how to do this, but I think it can be done. Maybe someone here with a better ideas of how to work with mixers can chime in and tell me if I'm full of it or not.
