Ok I have a decent pc and have found that recording at home is genius with the right kit. Question I have is what is the right kit? What I am looking for is a hardware package that has got the lot and based in the Uk so that I can buy.
Just as an example this recording was done with a £25 headset, a three year old lappy and Cooledit pro..

What I could do with other kit would be spot on..
Cheers for the help all..

Apr 21, 2011 02:06 pm sonuvabitch! Way to work with what you've got! Sounds great I'm not giving you any advice, it would be counter productive. Keep experimenting and don't compromise, invest only when you have to and keep it real.
Apr 21, 2011 02:13 pm Thanks mate.. yeh it sounds ok but everyone is going on about Audio Technica AT2035 Studio Microphones and stuff and ..well.. I want to invest in a hardware package that can take it to the next level..

Apr 21, 2011 02:45 pm What's your budget and what do you expect to do with the package? Is stereo recording enough for you or do you see yourself recording drums or a live band as well? What instruments are you typically using? Electric guitar, acoustic, djembe, vocals, cabasa, etc?
I think that if you can make a recording sound this good on a cheapy headset you are going to have no problem deciding what you like and don't like in a piece of equipment, but I'll make some recommendations based on what I've used anyway if you think it will help. Check out my profile to see what I'm currently using and listen to some of my recent projects if you'd like.

How many instruments/voices do you want to record at once?
Also, agree that the mp3 sounds quite nice. You have a really good singing voice.
