Presonus Firebox, Please Help

Hi,
I just bought a Presonus Firebox off of ebay and I'm concerned about a few things.
1) When plugged in the firebox makes a whirring noise.
2) None of the firebox's leds light up while it is plugged to the wall, when I have firewires connected to my mac and while a music cord is connected to it from my bass.
3) I can't get a hear a sound of music through it on my recording program; logic pro.
It came with cd's for installing certain programs. I installed one, but didn't mess with the program long. I assume that I should be able to get it to make the leds light up just by connecting it correctly and that I should be able to get it to stop making the annoying whirring noise too. Please help me get over this trouble quicker if you have advice!

Jan 09, 2011 10:56 pm hmm sounds a bit suspect,
All i can say is read thru the :"getting started" or "making connections" bit in your firebox manual. You have to make certain connections for your compy to see the FB.
then you'll have to make all the necessary connections in your program to record audio and hear it on playback.
Feel free to return and shoot questions on that if you have probs.
But more or less your manual and your prgoram "help" will tell you everything.
If youve already done all this before then im not sure.
On the wirring noise, i havent a clue. Probably shouldnt be doing that, but maybe Google and see if there is anyone with the same issues.
These pieces of crap, (nearly all interfaces) have a tendancy to die at the drop of a hat.
