i hope some one can help!
i have just purchased the Tascam US 1641 i loaded drivers onto my imac then after that computer restarts & after resuming it will not write firmware & device doesn't appear in system preference>sound>input it shows as connected for a sort time in Tascam control panel but then disappears the usb light is lit all connections checked , and i have updated divers with same problem

Sep 25, 2010 03:00 am uninstall drivers and firmware and reinstal.
Make sure you follow the insallation instructions exactly.
Sounds like you may have installed something before something else.
did you do whole unplug device thing during the installation?
I have had this issue before also.

i got as far with the install following to the maunual untill after the driver install it said to restart computer and after that nothing happened (so firmware was not written ) so i plugged device in & it was at first detected by the mac & the appeared in us1641 control panel (showing versions 1.00 driver & 1.00 firmware ) so i loaded cubase and at that point all was working in device manager in cubase but shortly after they disappeared from both mac .system pref> sounds & now shows only temperarily in us1641 control panel thats when i tried uninstalling drivers & firmware i have uninstalled drivers but not sure if firmware is unistalled as it never actaully did the write firmware thing as it always said device not found
i will try full uninstalling & removing all software & follow again . will see how that goes

Sep 25, 2010 09:04 pm no worries, Look in your downloads file, i gather thats where the firmy should be if its there eh?
also get the updated version frimware straight away. think its 1.01.
definately sounds like the firmy just wasnt installed...or the Mac doesnt like where the firmware is located, maybe you moved it accidently or something?
I did that once, unbeknown to me, with BFD2, still dunno where the said file went but BFD2 wont work and cant find the files, or doesnt like where they went.
