If you're using it in your effects chain, anything with true bypass should be fine. Stick to name brands I guess to be sure.

i use a boss chromatic, tunes mine to drop C just fine.
tuning the drop C or B string with a tuner on a 25 and half inch scale guitar is more a matter of if the guitar can do it properly.

most times im tuning the guitar, then going back to tweak the drop string coz its never quite right. too low for that scale guitar you see.
You hit that string and it flops in and out of the tuning till it settles on just a litte lower, which i what you need overall.
If you tune it to the tuner exclusivley its a little high IMO

Woah dude I just read that you play in drop B. What does THAT sound like? I just did a "metal blues" session in C# and it was soooo low...I can't imagine playing in B.

I guess I can't say if the tone was actually any good, the guy wanted his solid state amp set on destroy and it pretty much dominated the "room mix". The result was baaaaad, but oh well, live and learn.

+1 Dematrix, any tuner worth its salt (i have boss and i like it) will handle tunings down to B just fine, but it wont tell u if ur guitar is soundin like crap at that level of slinkiness, and u will end up spendin a bit of time gettin it to hit the green light since the string will be flapping around it will give u false readings.

The new polytune is suppose to be very accurate, but again its not so much accuracy ur looking for in that kind of drop situation.

i tune, the octave string, then the drop string by ear to that, then go from there .

the drop string will always sound too high if you go by the tuner, or get used to hittng the string just enough so the tuner is correct.

Nothing beats your ear though i reckon with this bit.

I used to play in drop B with a 25 and a half inch scale, but its very hard to get it sounding good, tone is out the window.

got sick of farting around with the guitar settings and intonations, so i bought a baritone. F****** best thing i ever did. Best sounding and playing guitar ever.

Baritones (27inch scale) is made for B concert pitch.
so really you can go to drop A no probs. Would be like drop D on a normal guitar.

I actually play in drop C, so the baritone is in D then dropped to C.
Go figure. Maybe thats where im getting that unique sound from.
sure plays good.
