I'm sure it could be better but for its purpose I think it is good enough. Anyway, final version of "white lies" has been uploaded and I also made it available for download if anyone is interested.
Peace

Jul 13, 2010 07:47 pm Sounds good man. I didn't expect the breakdown to be what it was but it was a cool change. Good job

Jul 13, 2010 08:03 pm Suprise!! Heh, glad you liked it. We basically shoot for mixing any genre type but try to add a rocking flavor. Thanks :)

Jul 14, 2010 02:15 am Sounds excellent! I think I noticed one vocal note that was slightly flat (sorry, critics ear), but whatever. Not generally my style of music, but I could rock with this. Good job!

Jul 14, 2010 08:54 am Everything you've ever put out sound amazing. Light years beyond anything I could ever create.
The only criticism I could hope to add is depth to the vocals. They seem a bit one dimensional to me- In need of backing, doubling, or harmonies. Her voice is amazing, reminds me of an old friend, Shannon Donovan. I think you two should exploit it!
Just my 2 cents.
BTW, I really love the subtle panning in this song!

Jul 14, 2010 01:06 pm I hear ya Keith, most of the songs we play there is just no way I could sing and play at the same time. We have been working on adding backups to some songs as me and the other guitarist actually harmonize well, I am just not a great singer/player and can only do so when my guitar part is more on the simple side of picking ;)
This is one of our first songs and I can't wait to get some of the newer stuff recorded for yall to hear. Her lyrics, melodies and patterns just keep getting better with each song as this is truly her first time being in a band.
I did have a double tracked to work with but, I had too much before and now it seems too little, Tough to hit that sweet spot :) If I ever re-visit this mix I will try using it heavy during only the chorus and leave it low during the verses.
Thanks for the listens guys.
