final file size with midi (in sonar)

sorry not sure where to post this...


so what i do for midi right now is i make an audio track with a soft synth on it... then i make a midi track with its output to the soft synth on the audio track...

if that makes sense

not sure if thats why but..

i also use lame mp3 encoding.. i followed some tutorial to get it built into sonar, i posted it here about a few months ago i think too

and im exporting at 41, 16 bit no dithering


why does a song that i use midi in "JUMP" in file size!? ex 3 min song is 9 mb, with midi, and 3 without (of course general example)

anyone? i know it hasnt been long... its just when making pre productions for my band, we want to record guitar direct, then just keyboard the drums in... but its a hassle sending 9 mb files to everyone!

So do you export to mp3? If so, export to wav file and see how that works, then dump the wav to mp3.
