I set up my tempo track and then did a bit of recording. The tempo changes after the intro and then then there's another change later on. After listening a few times, I decided that the intro needed to be a bit longer. So I wanted to add 8 to 16 more measures at the beginning of the song. I had some parts where I punched in over my recording to fix some mistakes. So then I glued my tracks and moved them forward 8 measures. Everything moved fine and was in time with the other tracks. Then I went to my tempo track and selected all the points where I had tempo changes and moved it forward 8 measures and it totally jacked my tracks. The timing was all off. I'm not even sure exactly what it did. The wave files still are in line with each other but it screwed up the timing somehow. Has anyone ever experienced this? Is there a better way to add measures into a song?

Mar 27, 2010 06:52 pm Hmm. explain that again? Like what exactly is messed up? maybe the tempo track moved with the rest of the song/ wav files. Does it sound like the wav files are being played back in a different tempo than they were recorded in? Try turning tempo track off, to a fixed tempo. turn off the click track. and just see what happens to the playback. maybe there's some preference screwed up. I'll check around for a bit tonight in my DAW. i use cubase 4 essentials
Mar 28, 2010 10:19 am Well, I got back into Cubase and tried it again and it moved everything correctly this time, so everything is good. I'm not quite sure what happened, but it was somehow splitting up the wave file on one of the tracks and adding silence in the middle. It was really weird.

Mar 29, 2010 01:11 am yeah man i know what you mean,
I have done this also but i only get one audio track that goes out.
Check the manual on track info because i think you can set up the track to do certain things which ties in with what youre talking about.
i have added measures of drums like you and moved the wav's to match up but there was always one wave that i couldnt match up again, and im pretty sure it has something to with track options somewhere in the project window, possibly up top left, or in the transport window (play, ffw, rew, console)
