HELP - Live Sound Processing

Please help... I am looking for suggestions on dynamics and effects processing for both live sound reinformanet and recording. I have the following, with most effects recently acquired, and any suggestions for ordering, etc. would be most appreciated.

Mackie 1604VLZ Board (has channel and main inserts and 4 aux busses)
Crown amps and speakers (got this part down pretty well)
Effects:
4 x 2 channel compressors
2 x Muti FX processors
1 x 31 band Stereo Graphic EQ
1 x Parametric EQ (stereo, 5 band constant Q, sweepable / overlapping freq.)

This is where I need the help. What's the most effective order for dynamic and effects processors? Should they go on the aux busses, Main inserts, or channel inserts? Would a combination of all various channel inserts and main inserts be better?

I run 6 mics on the drum kit, separate mics for two guitar amps and two vocal mics. No bass at this point, but it's coming so I plan a single mic on a bass amp.

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey th123. Welcome to the HRC!

Well, there really isn't a way of making connections that would increase the dynamics.

Inserting the compressors is standard practice. Same with running the effects off of an aux.

There are some that will argue that inserting an EQ will increase the noise floor. But, I do both inserting and going straight into the EQ. The noise floor has been the same for me in both instances.
