I would like to run VST's and my DAW on two separate computers.
What would be the best way to go for this? I have a laptop with windows XP and a desktop with Vista. Any ideas?

The first way that comes to my mind is by using Steinberg's VST System Link if you're using Cubase. You can find info on it all over the web. It should be available in just about any version of Cubase or Nuendo. I'm not sure if other DAW software uses System Link or if its just a Cubase/Nuendo thing.

FX Teleport looks like another way to do it:

Yeah, FX Teleport is quite popular. Reaper has this functionality, ReaMote, I think. From what I've seen in the forums, it works, and people use it with good results, but a few others use FX-T with better results. I can't quite remember the issues now, but there were a few reasons why they liked FX-T better. It may not be relevant to normal home-type engineers, but I don't know for sure.
