My new (to me) 01V is on its way and I'm trying to figure out the best way to link it with Cubase on my laptop. I would like to be able to simultaneously capture signals from all 16 inputs on the 01V on the computer's hard drive.
The laptop has 2 Firewire and 4 USB 2.0 inputs.
The 01V is a replacement for a Phonic Helix Board 24 MKII Firewire, which is capable of streaming 16 channels to the computer. So, I can continue to use it for recording, but I would rather sell it and let the new mixer do double duty if possible.
Thanks.

I'll have to look that up. I just know that the DM1000 does this.

Sep 01, 2009 09:29 am The more I look at the options, the more I think that I should keep the Phonic. The max digital output that I can get from the 01V appears to be 8 ADAT channels via an optional card ($300). Then I'd need another interface to convert ADAT to USB or FW. Any other options would involve splitting the incoming analogue signals and routing to an interface.
Unless I come across new info., it seems like the best option is to keep the Phonic for its 16 channel FW interface. In a pinch I could also use it to expand my total FOH inputs, as a monitor mixer, or as a backup if the 01V ever crashed.

Sep 01, 2009 09:56 pm Doug, I had seen an option as well to use the same type of rig used by MOTU and stack up more channels. That was a bit ago though. I'll see if I can find anything when I get some time. Although the Phonic idea for now is a fine route.
