Reason in Acid Pro 6

Hi.

I use Reason 4, and I'm trying to record the output streaming into Acid Pro 6. I want to put beats down off the drum pads - I use a Korg MICROkontrol.

Many many thanks for the help, this will get me rolling on recording music for the first time in my life!

Thanks again,
mkfun

I have Acid Pro 6 running with Reason rewired into it right now...what questions do you have?

In order to get Reason rewired into Acid Pro, you simply fire up Acid Pro, then fire up Reason (the order there is important). Then, in Acid, hit the button above the mixer that says "input soft synth." There will be two tabs, "Soft Synths" and "Rewire Devices." Go to the "Rewire Devices" tab after firing Reason up and choose "Reason: Mix L/ Mix R" and you should be ready to go!

NBrunk

Thx I didn't open up in that order before. I get the sound, however, but it doesn't seem to record the sounds when I hit the record button in Acid.

Looks like others get this problem, too:

If you go to you tube and search for "Rewire device using Acid Pro 6.0" the user comments are in the same boat.

I can't seem to find a solution.

Anyone?

NBrunk - are you able to play things off your midi controller and get them to record in acid live?

it's not gonna "record" reason's output to a wavefile inside acid in real time and it sounds to me that's what your expecting it to do....if you wanna do that you have to mix down each track individually then import them into acid as wav files....its' best to just have reason slaved to Acid so they both play at the same time.....then just mixdown everything in acid to a stereo .wav

Yep, you need to assign a midi track to the ReWire synth, Reason in this case. Then you can either bounce to a new audio track or bounce to file and then drag the wav back into Acid.

Make sure that the midi channel you're recording to has the output set at the proper instrument WITHIN Reason...otherwise the midi data you've recorded won't be properly forwarded to the correct instrument within Reason's rack.
