Don't Know Why You Love Me So
All night long, I've been thinkin'
How much trouble I've always been
Well here we are, and you're prayin' again
Why don't you go?
I don't know why, oh why you love me so
And as we lie here, you're not cryin'
You should be tryin' to turn me away
If nothin' changes, oh why do you stay?
Please don't go
I don't know why, oh why you love me so
Dawn comes when you whisper Amen
Precious lips rest on mine
And then you hold me, hold me forever and then
Here we are just cryin', oh cryin'
And now the sunrise on your pillow
Highlights the lovin' I see in your eyes
You should be leavin', oh I realize
You won't go
And I don't know why, oh why you love me so
I don't know why, oh why you love me so...

Happy 35th Anniversary DungBeatle, and er... Mrs.DungBeatle.
MAN, that is a looooong time! By these days standards, anyway. So many people get divorced now... I think dB has the most interesting theory as to why. : p
Congradulations, dude!

I'll have to try and catch the tune tomorrow though. Looking forward to hearing it.

Jun 03, 2009 06:52 pm Did you play the piano for her or did she play that as well.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. That girl has a great voice. Even when she is singing soft like this it is still a very present force in the music.
Excellent piece of music by the way.
And congrats on 35 years indeed.
Jun 04, 2009 09:50 am Thanks for checking it out everyone! It seems to be popular over on soundclick, it's at #9 in Country-General. Not that I put much stock in their charts, but I'll take anything I can get! :)
Noize - I played the piano. I plan to get a male vocal version of this done, but I haven't had any luck finding someone. If you know of a someone who has his own home studio, I would love contact info. I will pay... The piano part is captured midi so I can pretty easily transpose it into any key.
I'm trying to get her to stop smoking cigarettes! She has better range and control when she isn't smoking...
Thanks for the well wishes too!

Seriously though, I might be able to find someone. Do you want a younger voice or a more mature voice? And the vocal in that same style, very old school southern ballad similar to her's?
Tell her to do what I did. Just cut back at least to start with. I'm not saying my voice is as it once was. But it did actually help me get some range back to it. Even after all the years of abusing it, and then not using it.
You've got my email. Shoot me the midi file and I'll see if I can find someone. I doubt if I tell them what it is for they would charge for time. Several owe me favor's anyway.
