Hey guys,
I was curios about what kind of power amps are fairly decent, and the proper use of the power amp. Proper use meaning that im using it correctly haha. In what order does the power amp go in the chain of gear?
Thanks,
Sorry for the rather uneduacted question of gear gab :)

May 31, 2009 09:21 pm Well, all pieces of gear follow signal flow. And that is what makes sense for the piece to be there.
In the recording world. Signal flow goes:
Computer to interface.
Interface to amp
Amp to speakers
In the Live concert world:
mixing board to EQ
EQ to crossover
Crossover to amp
Amp to speakers
For brand names of amp that are good:
Crown
QSC
Lab Gruppen
MC2

not prosumer gear, definantly consumer, but still good for the money,
the kind that will last you a lifetime if treated right

Jun 15, 2009 07:54 pm Thanks, I'll definitely check those brands out. I have a buddy of mine who has a QSC power amp can't remember what kind of QSC though.
Thanks again,
