Anyone know any decent amp sim programs? I'm not looking for anything super fancy, but I'd like to be able to get a decent range of amps, might just go get a toneport or something, but theres probably software that will do what I want.

May 13, 2009 07:31 am awesome man, got the demo and I'll put it to work. We're looking for a specific sound for the guitar right now, but the problem is none of us know exactly what that sound is haha. We've got the idea in our head, but no idea how to put it to tape. I can't even explain it haha. Lot of expirimentation going on right now. In fact, only reason I'm awake this early is to work on finding the sound

May 13, 2009 03:46 pm i can reccomend amplitube2 ( or ampituve metal depending what you are doing )
..
What ever sim you are using, you will get much better results turning off the cab section, and using a speaker impulse.
There is loads of info on amp sims, and impulses over at www.guitarampmodeling.com/
I tend to clone the left track, so i have 2, and add a center mic impulse to one track, and an edge mic impulse to the other... then blend em. - then repeat for the right channel
Cheers.
