I have SONAR 6 Producer Ed. and when I playback a project from any system the instrumentals play out of one speaker and vocals play out of a separate one. This is killing my sound quality. Is there a setting I can adjust? HELP!

Apr 08, 2009 08:39 am How do you have the output set for each track, or the master bus? Are you recording in stereo, but only in one side of the stereo?

Apr 08, 2009 09:20 am Yup, sounds like an output-designation issue.
At the botton of each track, you can set the output of that track to go to your soundcard outputs, or a sub bus, or even an fx send for side chaining.
Try making sure that your track outputs are going to the same output, and see if you get the same results.

Apr 08, 2009 01:00 pm Recording in stereo but only using one channel would be my first guess.
On input make sure your selecting Mono 1 for an input vs. stereo 1/2.
If you run one mic on channel 1 and record stereo 1/2 you will get left channel output only.
Plug in another mic to channel two and record a seperate stereo vocal take you end up with vox on the right channel only.
Just a guess...

Apr 09, 2009 07:20 pm And what exactly do you mean by a project from any system?
You do realize That Sonar and most other DAW's have their own project file format.
Unless it is an OMF file you are talking about then that might be part of the problem.
