Cubase AI4 - glitches

I have been using Cubase AI4 on my MAC for several months and all has been going well as I learn to use the software and hardware. Recently I have expereinced some problems when recording and during playback. The track appears to jump, or drop out, which creates a delay in recording. This is not a major issue as I can record parts again - but it is a pain if I am half way throug a complicated peice. During palyback these glitches make it difficult to listen to. Can anyone help?

I also need advice on how to download the finished tracks to a CD or MP3 - Can anyone also help with this issue?

Cheers

Yep, sounds like it might be overloading the Mac.

What are the specs of the Mac, CPU and amount of Ram?

Also what is the interface you are using to record and playback with?
