I found some very cheap large diafragm condensor from marshall eletronics, they are as cheap as Behringer's B1.

Has anyone ever heard or tried it?

I use Marshall V69 Condensor Mic for Voice overs, I think it really captures warmth. I am 100% satisfied with it. I'm constantly looking for people on e-bay willing to part with them at a good price....Price for Quality I give them a very high grade. Grab it up!

i'm cureently debatin g between the MXL's and te Behringers. Hearing alot of good hype about both lines, essentially that they are all excellent bang-for-your-buck mics. if anyone can offer a comparison on these brand's mics i'm interrested too.

I recently purchased the MXL 990. Having never tried any mics from the Behringer line, I cant give any comparison. But the 990 is a really excellent mic for the 70 bucks I paid at Musicians Friend. (Shameless plug for my favorite music store!) I would recommend it to any vocalist on a budget.

and do the same shameless plug for Musicians feind ( friend) , I have the other side of that debate coin , i have the B1 and I'm very happy with my little mic , and I've put it through some abuse , to me it's been very hand from cymbals to vocals .

I have a clutch of the Marshall MXL series microphones including:

V77S, V67G, MXL 2003, and 603S

The V77S is a LD tube that is sort of similar to an AKG C12, and sounds bright and airy.

The V67G is a little darker LD, but a fine, inexpensive vocal mic with a pronounced proximity effect.

The 2003 LD is darker yet, with a more neutral sound, 10dB pad, LF rolloff, and has almost no proximity effect.

The 603S is a SD condenser which works very well for acoustic guitar and overheads. It's an excellent value, and similar to the Octava MC012.

In my opinion, most of the Marshall microphones are good values. Some pros even compare them with the serious, expensive, condensers.

I'd say stay away from the MXL 2001 and 600, however, as most people say they suck. I disliked my MXL 600 and traded it for a 603S which is both cheaper and better.

Others Marshalls worth looking at are the MXL 990, V69 (tube), and 1006.

Harvey Gerst wrote a review of the MXL micrphones which is worth looking at. Google it!

Another one you might want to consider is the Oktava MK319. I have a couple of them and have found them to be extremely good mics for the money. Very versatile. Musician's Friend doesn't appear to have them anymore, but there is someone selling a grip of them on ebay for $85 each.

And hey GuitarLord, nice avatar!

You want to know something really funny... I was reading that post thinking, "I don't have one of those. I don't remember writing this." Definitely threw me! I guess it's time to get a new avatar! Maybe I've got enough clout now to get a custom one like Hero has!

The avatar you have now does look like a blue ninja. But my 10 year old thinks it looks like the night walker from Princess Mononoque, escept it doesnt have the tentacles on the head part, or at least that you can see. I think we should design you a blue ninja.

I already have a little icon that I've used for a few things. It's not as "mystical" as this avatar, but it would serve the purpose. I do like the avatar I'm using now, but I'm greedy and like to have my very own!

P.S. Is there a way to use a custom avatar, or is that only for the special few?

Just wanted to let you guys know that ShreveAudio is selling the MXL 603 for $49 right now. I don't know how long the sale will last, but that's a really good price.

Blessings, Terry
