I don't know the TD-9, or TD-anything, but if each sound has it's own output, and you have a sound card with that many inputs, just wire 'em up!

Hmmmmmmm, well, in that case I'd have to guess you'll need to send it all in MIDI data, then send the MIDI back to the TD-9 when playing back so it can use the samples...or, better yet, why not spend some time and make samples of the TD-9's sounds you are using, then just sequence it in your PC?

You don't say what tracking app you are using, but I'd guess there is sequencing functionality in it...

Just a thought...

I'd think that stereo outs, you're stuck with 2 channels, with all sounds together.

Send midi out to the PC, and have all the midi channels separate.

This way you can use whatever sound creation device / solution you want. Use a sequencer that will harness all midi channels separate (FL studio does this) and you can attach different samples to each channel.

Record the midi data live, then attach sounds to it for mixing / mixdown later.

This assumes that the TD9 sends midi devices on different midi channels. I can't believe that it wouldn't.

Yep, without the multiple outputs on the TD-9 you will have two choices. Either record the drum hits via midi and then filter the midi track to send only single note data to the TD while recording each part separately.

The other alternative is to get a software drum program such as Battery or DrumCore or similar and then send the midi data to that. Most of them can be configured to send each different note to a different output direct to track's or buses.

could it work with USB? As a drummer its important that i play the tracks my self. The sampling idea is good but like i said i want to play the tracks my self!! THANKS FOR THE GOOD IDEAS!!

You would be playing it yourself. You would play the midi data to the PC, where it's recorded as data, like 10 different tracks of midi data.

Then, after the data is recorded, you play your midi file in a sequencer which attaches the sounds to your midi data.

You're actually doing the same thing with the TD9, but it happens in real time.

This other way, you get to control more.

actually, the midi data can live in one file, with each different event being on a different 'note'.
