Hello, I am totally new at all this recording gibbins! I have just purchased the following which I hope to use with cubase sx:

1. Behringer Tube Ultragain MIC200 preamp

2. Behringer U-CONTROL UCA202 - sound card.

Can anyone plese tell me how these two will connect to my pc - ie what cables do I need to buy.

It looks like I can plug my guitar/mic directly into the pre amp, but it appears that to connect the pre amp to the soundcard I would need a TRS to RCA cable!?? does anyone know if this is correct? If so does anyone know where I could get one from?

Anyhelp would be great as I do not seem to be able to find much online help!!

Cheers in advance.

Mark

yes, it would appear you would need a TRS to RCA...you should be able to find them at any RadioShack or similar store, likely in any pro audio or semi-pro audio supply place as well, they are not uncommon.

That may be as close as you can get, as the mic200 puts out balanced signal:

Quote:
Balanced ΒΌ" TRS inputs and outputs

RCA won't accept a balanced signal, so you'll have to just tap unbalanced signal out from that 1/4" TRS (balanced) jack.

Hopefully that will work, and not introduce any unwanted noise.

Hi pjk - I have managed to get a single 1/4" TRS lead to two RCA plugs.

I am not too sure what you mean regarding RCA not accepting balanced signal? Sorry I am new to all this.
Does this mean I will not be able to connect my mic200 to my uca-202 behringer sound card?

Any help would be great thanks
