So has anyone seen this from Melodyne. It is said to be able to break down notes in a chord play and recorded by any normal acoustic instrument. Like MIDI editing for non MIDI instrument recordings.

May 03, 2008 01:34 am I think this is the third time this has been posted, but yeah, its pretty amazing! I like how you can transpose anything into a different scale, cause I like indian scales, but I have no idea how to play them :-).
May 03, 2008 01:41 am i wouldn't have any use for this. i kind of want to have a use for it, because it's very cool. but i dont know what i'd do with it. performing a mistake is cause for me to re-record, generally. i don't get a warm feeling when i use a tool to fix something.

May 03, 2008 02:20 am Yeah it's pretty cool, I'm thinking about picking up cre8 which will have that feature after the plugin version.
forty, it has far more uses than correcting mistakes, that would be the least of what I'd use it for.

May 03, 2008 03:10 am I would like to hear it in person and not through the crappy youtube audio track. Seems like it could be a very powerful editing tool. Sorry for the repost. I thought it was cool and hurried over to post it, admittedly without thinking to search first. Feel free to delete. :)

May 03, 2008 05:32 am Go to Celemony's website and check the videos out there. They are much higher quality.

May 03, 2008 07:05 am for what else, experimenting with scales, to get melody ideas or whatever? but we can do that ourselves. i hate it when a machine writes the song :(
