AC/DC up close and personal

Hey all,

I just got a tip from a guy that works at Warehouse Studios in Vancouver. AC/DC has been recording there since the beginning of last month. As much as that is cool news....

..there is a tribute band called Thunderstruck that is scheduled to play tomorrow night. The inside scoop is that it won't be a tribute band but the real deal!! w00t!! Bought 6 tickets at $15 each.

Fingers crossed that the tip turns out to be true! If it is, the venue is really small (club) and it would be incredible to see them there. Even the tribute band is awesome so either way it is going to be a rockin' good time tomorrow night!!

Back in Black still rocks the planet almost thirty years later.

Now I have to play it.

I just listened to it again. It never gets tired for some reason. Best rock n roll mix ever.

Good thing you didn't see my air guitar.

Haha, I love that album as well. I heard rumours that Mutt Lange was going to produce this one as well but apparently not. Brendan O'Brien is doing this one. I don't think he has done anything for them before but he sure has a long list of credits.

ACDC Never sold out, man. They never did one of those cheesy power ballads. They rock!

I've always said this too, they never made a ballad. Cool

I was doing a DJ gig for a friend's wedding. Mostly they were the younger crowd, so I was playing more current heavy stuff. I spun 'You shook me all night long' and the groom walked by talking to someone: "This stuff is still cool".

Heck yeah!

The Cutaways, the band I play in, end every gig with "You Shook Me All Night Long", which is way above anyone's vocal range in the band...but no one cares. And then, for good measure, we do "Rockin' in the Free World"

Timeless...

my drummer and I auditioned some possible bandmates. The girl had a HUGE voice, and nailed that song. We were dumbstruck. When you sing that song correctly, it didn't matter if it was a female voice or not.

Too bad they had other personal issues, and couldn't work out. She was awesome.

I once heard country-hottie Shania Twain do that song, backed up by Allison Krauss and her band. It was actually a very good new-grassy take on the song. (Couldn't hold candle to the original, however.)

Hahaha...that reminds me of the time I heard a gal in a local band covering ZZ Top's I Woke Up With Wood. I couldn't help but think, ur, "I don't think she understands what the song's about."

A little off subject, but I yanked out "shout" by the Isley Brothers the other day. That thing has hit half century and still just kicks!

BH, even if the rumor is just that and it is actually Thunderstruck they are the ultimate AC/DC cover band around. Got to see them awhile back and only for a short bit. But they are that good that you would not know the difference. But I as well have heard a couple rumors that AC/DC was doing a few odd shows around your area that were being billed as the ultimate cover band and they are turning out to be the real deal.

Keep us posted on the deal.
