Im looking to purchase some studio monitors in the very near future. Im looking to spend some where from $1000-$1500 or there abouts. The models im currently looking at are:
Tannoy Reveal 8d
ADAM Audio A7
Dynaudio BM6A MK II
KRK VXT 8
Mackie HR824mk2
So far ive heard the Mackie and the KRK. To me the KRK kicked the Mackies *** as the mackie sounded muddy and dark. Im basicly just looking for opions on which to buy. Any other brand/model suggestions are welcome. Thanx for the help.
Cheers.

Apr 10, 2008 12:07 am I think you could probably eliminate the Mackies out of that list. You're not the only one that doesn't like them. I love some Mackie products but somehow, I think they're slipping in the quality control department. I haven't heard anything bad about the VXT's. If I had to pick though I would stick with the Adams or Tannoy.

Apr 10, 2008 10:23 pm I went through probably two dozen pairs before I came to the KRK K-Roks and I have been using them ever since. That is just my personal opinion.
The fact that you personally liked the KRK's over the Mackie's would make me believe that they might be the right choice in your case.
I also have used the Adams and they are pretty straight sounding without any extra color added. If you have a dealer near you that has Focal you might have a look at those as well. Very clean sounding and not really room dependent.
