Help !-- I can not fix-- I recorded a live band and Number One Vocal mic came in to loud and is "peaking" through the entire session--You know that scratching clipping type sound that drives your monitors crazy--Yes I should have caught and corrected but had my scrol down to input 2 not 1???-- I am having a Brain Freeze-

Is there any way to fix the entire track throughout the recording?

Thanks in advance

I don't know Sonar, but it may have a feature called "clip repair", "clip restoration," or something of that ilk. Search the Help menu. Adobe Audition has it, so I'm thinking Sonar should too. I've never used it, and I don't know how well it works, but it's worth a try.

Does Sonar have a wave rewrite function? I always do it in WaveLab so I dunno, but it works well to redraw a wave and "erase" the clip...it would take a long time to do though if it's a whole track, I've only done it if I have a couple of "oops" moments in a track...

I've done this a million times, either as little oppsies or large chunks and I've found there's no way to fix the scratching sound when it peaks like that in Sonar. I think it might be a digital overload or something, but I can't find any other way to fix it than re-recording the affected tracks. If there is a way to do it, I'd sure love to know!

Have him come in and re-sing the vocal track maybe?
