I have an M-audio interface and I'm recording in to Cubase. When recording vocals i can't monitor the vocals and hear the music at the same time. How can I get this to work. and if i can, can the fx be heard.

What M-Audio interface do you have?
Which Version of Cubase, LE, SX?
Are you using your stock sound card for anything?
Which drivers are you using (MME, WDM, ASIO?)
To answer one bit of the question, the software FX should be heard in real time, so it's a yes on that one. If you're using any outboard effects (hardware) then that will depend on how you have it set-up (weather it's done right or not basically.)

If your listening to ur music through ur monitors from the fast track, than clicking the monitor button in cubase hsould allow u to hear ur mic, but i think those smaller m-audio units have latency issues.
