Waves Ultramaximizer not compatible with Wavelab?

Hi,
Forgive me if this has come up before - I couldn't find anything in a search. Is there a known compatibility issue with the Waves L1, L2, and L3 Ultramaximizers and Wavelab? I've been using Waves plugins in my DAW (Sonar) for a while with no problem, but I've just opened up Wavelab for the first time in order to attempt Mastering, and while all the Waves plugins are there, L1, L2, and L3 are all missing. Anyone got any ideas? I think I have Wavelab v5 if that helps.

Many thanks in advance.
-Dan

Interesting, I use them in WaveLab...perhaps they are disabled in your plugin manager, or the Waves dll's are in a directory not mapped as a VST folder or something...

Wow. Fast reply. Thank you.

I'm by no means an expert, particularly when it comes to managing plugins, so you may well be right. I'll look into that more, even though I have attempted to place the dll's in all kinds of folders, and have dragged them onto Wavelab to try and get them recognised. Just seems strange that all of the other Waves plugins were recgonised automatically, and are located in the same folder as L1/L2/L3, yet the maximizers weren't recognised. It's great to know that it is compatible though, and that I should be able to get it working somehow.

By the way, when you say Plugin manager, what do you mean? Is that a Wavelab function, or a Waves one?

I am not in front of it, and haven't been using WaveLab much lately, but I believe WaveLab has a plugin manager where you can show and hide plugins you want to show or not (can make lists more managable if some are only used in tracking and some only in mastering for example).

Typically all VST's should have their dll files stored in the same folder, it's makes it quick and easy for applications to find them all. Most VST installers look for a currently registered folder and defaults to install there.

Well thank you hugely for your help. I'm sure it's just lack of experience with the software on my part and I'll look into it when I'm home.

No problemo, one of those two issues will hopefully solve the problem.

You were absolutely correct, and now I feel quite stupid. I'm usually meticulous about scanning the menus and help.

Anyway, thanks and regards.
