Okay, so once again I'm looking for outside-the-box ways to think about and create music, whether that's techniques, instruments and tools, style blending... whatever.

In my browsing today, I found something that I thought was interesting. I thought I'd share to see if it spark any conversation amongst the resident musical geniuses that make up the whole of this community!

Interesting concept as the device was technically making the music, but he was controlling it real time to give it a "song" feel.

Looks like a cross between a step sequencer and a lite brite!

From reading about it, it does seem like a glorified step sequencer. Step sequencing doesn't exactly bring out my inner artist to say the least. It does, however, bring out my inner mathmetician.

Ahh, thanky Tad.

Certainly would be a must-have for those fascinated by shiny objects!

I wish I still had my 1975 Radio Shack color organ..

While I cut my synthy teeth on step sequencer's I have to say they are now for me simply a tool for quickly creating big arpeggio's. I don't much care for step writing everything out if I don't have to.

I did enough of that in the ReBirth days. Does anyone remember ReBirth. Funny enough I still love tinkering with it.
