I am a noob to Sonar, and am trying to record through the line in/mic in on my external soundcard (Creative Audigy NX2 24-bit) or my laptop mic in. Neither work. When I try to chose what to record off of, I can see the card, but i cannot click on it.
I've gotten this far, but can't click on the card.

Jan 10, 2008 03:50 pm does the menu expand on the right side of the creative sound card entry?

Jan 10, 2008 03:55 pm Under "Options" there is an Audio section or perhaps its called Hardware (can't remember off hand). Anyhow, it lists all the inputs/outputs there and you have to check off which ones you want to use before they will show up in tha application.

Go to Options- Audio and set your sound card up in there. Be sure to test the latency and adjust the buffers before you start recording. Also, don't use the outs on the tracks themselves unless you're transferring those tracks to effects sends or bus'. When you choose a recording input, sonar delegates an audio output to the master by default, and the master is automatically pushed to the sound card you choose from the audio options pane.
Then, if you're using midi, go to Options- Global, click on the midi tab and set up your controller etc.
And Welcome to HRC :)
