how to do slide in MIDI editing?

Am I in the right forum to ask this question?

I am using GPO for violin samples.
However, I don't know how to make a slide between two notes, like from D to G note using slide on the same string of violin.

Pitch bend can only shift one whole tone. Can it be more?

Any idea? thanks

Most of my synths and samplers can bend an entire octave if I set it for that.

I would look in the settings for the pitch bend in GPO and see if that whole note is just a default setting and can be changed.

Entire octave?
that's really great.

I mainly use GPO, Bandstand, Cakewalk TTS-1. How about them?

Thanks.
I really feel annoying for this matter :(

The thing is, with Garritan, there is not much options for settings. So, I'm not sure if there is a way to change it from what the default is. But if you see something, let me know....

Yes, Bandstand and TTS-1 will both go that far. It is in the preferences settings section.

On GPO, I am not really sure were the settings would be. I would assume it could be in the midi settings area of the pluggin, but it could as well be a drop down menu from the front panel as well.

It may also be a global setting thing. I know most bigger instruments like that have an over all Global setting. Kontakt has individual settings for each instrument in the rack and then a Global setting as well.

to Noize2u,
how to achieve it in TTS-1 and Bandstand?

is it a matter of Portamento?

Yeah, I did this quite a while ago with a bass soundfont (i think), so the process should be similar.

I did this in FL studio.

I set the portamento on, then turned the 'slide' feature (in fl studio) to a high amount. then play around with the piano roll placement of notes, and it starts sliding on it's own.

I just did this again in FL studio 6. I have the bass synth sliding back and forth.

See the two notes I have in the piano roll, going between them, the slide comes from the last note played, to the new note.

here's a sample:

Open the TTS-1, click the edit button at the top of the channel you wish to change the pitch bend range for. Then in the lower right hand corner you will see the BEND RANGE knob. You can actually get 3 octaves in TTS-1.

On Bandstand, are you talking about the Native Instruments version or the older Cakewalk app called Bandstand?

In the NI version, I don't believe you can adjust it.
