Like TC Helicon and DigiTech.

I am wondering if I could just get one of those and use it for two different mics at once. If it's possible could I use different effects on each mic?

Thanks.

Also, anybody know how a sax would sound put through one of those?

Are you talking about a live performance? I'm guessing so.

Anyhow, I don't perform live but for our jams I just feed the raw tracks through my DAW and then monitor the ouput with whatever effect I want. Of course this keeps me teathered to the DAW and I wouldn't trust the PC monitoring thing while performing at a venue. I'm sure someone with a robust laptop would be able to pull it off however.

I recall reading an interesting online interview with the sax player from the Average White Band (love them). He used similar stuff in his rig to get his sound. Can't recall where I saw it now...

Yes I am talking about live playing.

And yes I have read that interview from the sax player from AWB. It's about using a vocal harmony thing to make himself sound like a whole sax section.
Here's the link if you or anybody else wants to read it:

Thanks for the feedback but I'm still confused. Let me explain the situation. Me and another guy in my band will be singing at once and I want both of us to have vocal effects. In the song I want each of us to have vocal effects on at once (most likely two different effects at once) but I don't want to buy two seperate effects processors.
Is it possible for me to use just one effects processor for two people with two effects going at once?
If not is it even possible to have two mics plugged into it at once?

I know the Behringer Virtualizer's are capable of using the tow channels either as a stereo pair or as two separate processing channels. I think there are a couple other processor's out there that will do the same, but not at that price. Eventide has processor's that will do it, but I am guessing you don't want to chunk down 4 grand on that.

So it's cheaper to just buy two pieces of equipment?

As far as 2 mics at once, if you put the processor in a AUX loop of your mixer, you can send the 2 mic signals to the processor, and back into the receives. Just turn up the AUX signal for those two channels.

I have the virtualizer and it will allow 2 different signal paths. However, you should be aware that you cannot mix and match. They are pre-sets. For example one setting might be Chorus/Reverb. While you can change the wetness of the effect you cannot use whatever combination you want.
