Would certainly appreciate feedback on this one. Especially the mix... (4MB):
sdg.ag.uidaho.edu/BobMusi...es_Final_07.mp3

Me on piano
Aarika vocals
Midi bass and drums
Drums are BFD

Lead guitar is loops, "Rhythm & Twang" Troy Klontz.

Many thanks!

Fun song ! Listening...

Cymbals could go back just a bit...

Vocals are spot-on, but could use a little boost in the low end of them... give it a bit more 'umph' to that growl she's got goin' on there...

Piano's a-rockin' !

The guitar-loops you used fit-in really well... nice placement .

That's all I got . : )

It sounds great :)

I don't have the best listening conditions at the moment (laptop speakers) but the only thing I can tell ya from where I am is the vocals are a bit prominent. Other than that, I think it sounds great.

wow, nice rocky, honkeytonkey piano. Cool song. My headphones that I'm listening on literally cost $2.99 so I don't feel super comfortable commenting on the mix. But I like the song. It sounded pretty good, but maybe the vocals are a bit out front, but like I said, kinda hard to tell for sure with these conditions. Nothing grated on my ears; it sounded cool.

SWEEEEEEEET!!!!!

Nice piano playing, I bet you can play with both hands!! :-)

I think what coolo is hearing is indeed from the fact that the vocal could use a tiny bit of lower end. I don't have time to fiddle right now to find the sweet spot but I'm thinking maybe in the 850hz range give or take. That will kind of help take the edge off her voice in the mix. But everything else is sitting really well. And the drums just rock.

Oh ya, did I say the piano is kickin'?

Please tell your daughter those vocals are killer for that tune as well. Man can that girl belt it out!

I think I forgot to mention, that piano kicks butt!

Hey guys, thanks for the generous feedback! And the compliments.. Glad you like it... I'll work on that vocal and take the edge off tonight... I thought the lead guitar was a little too quiet, so I might pop that up a bit too and run it through an amp sim, smooth it out a bit more. I have to say, I am really happy with BFD. It's everything in drums I've been looking for, It's a little studio in itself and a stand alone instrument so I can just use it like any other midi instrument in Cakewalk. I plan to upgrade to the next version. I'll pass on the kind words to Aarika! Thanks again...

DungBeatle, it's reminiscent of a PBS mix. That's a compliment. The instruments are well balanced without too much compression.

Fine performances throughout. I will agree that the cymbals could be backed off just a little. Otherwise, well done!

seems like the vocals could use compression? there are volume gradations in there, seemed to me. otherwise good!

Thanks Herb and Forty... What's a PBS mix? I'll look over that vocal tonight and see if I can smooth out the volume... Thanks again!
