That's an awesome idea though- I bet it's going to cost an arm and a leg just to try one, let alone buy it.

Speak for yourself crux; now that you've said that, I'm not going anywhere near one of those guitars. I'll stick to my non-robotic acoustics.

Its no help that Gibson entices the idea by providing video evidence

Next thing you know, they're going to make a robot to play the robotic guitar that'll replace the guitarist all together. They've only got a couple step left after the leaps and bounds 'Guitar Hero' has made.

Interesting. But I would guess it is going to be very expensive.

Wicked :-). They need to make one you can stick on all 6 tuning pegs of a normal guitar so it tunes itself. That I would buy.

I've thought about that, have a 'tuning' mode, where the guitar senses it's pitch, and then tightens the pegs, or something under the bridge tightens a string, till it's in perfect pitch.

Add that to the Gibson's intonation mode, and you'd have a real winner.

Sounds like a market, there CS. =).

With the technology present, I'm sure it wouldn't be too terribly difficult.

They do sell this little gadget, but it gets very mixed reviews.

Similar, but I was thinking on the guitar itself.

Same basic idea though.

I wonder if it tunes by turning down? I've always tuned by bringing up, to keep tension on the post.

Unless you have locking tuners, that is.

Noize, I think the MSRP on that robo guitar is about $2500. Not too bad for a LP, only about $300 more than a Standard LP.

What would this guy (Adrian Legg) do to the Roboguitar?
I think it would kill itself..

OK, Adrian Legg is just plain kool! If you've never seen him do that whole thing you've missed out. He can wail playing the tuners like that.

But if you really want to get a killer chuckle. Wait till the other video choices come across the bottom and watch how ever much of it you can of the Richard Benson Guitar Trick. The dude is way out there. And he's speaking Italian as well. But check out the rock star hair and clothes. I could not quit laughing. I could not quit laughing the whole time.
