thanks to the steelers defense I won in my other FF league...the league that actually costs money. Did you see Tomlin when that last punt came close to going back for TD, he looked stunned. Standing there with his mouth hanging open in disbelief, it was a funny picture.

I am getting my *** kicked in HRC's league this year...sheesh...

That was a soft run for a TD that the Steelers gave up before half-time. Aside from that, they shut the Ravens down!
Amazing to see the greats there. I think the boys played up for them.

The running game was not stellar, but that's a tough run defense that the Ravens have.

The Bus nearly always got 100 yards on a Monday night.

Peterson is going to make people forget any other running back even played the game.

But will they make people forget Adrian Peterson of the Chicago Bears :)

This claim has been made many times, the key to a hall of fame running back career is good luck with injuries, if he starts to get nicked and banged up early he won't last - exhibit 1 = Terrel Davis.

That is very true, longevity is the key to immortality...and Peterson is such a physical runner I suspect as the years go by injuries will take a toll on him in a big way.

For right now tho, he is something awesome to watch.

Peterson is amazing.

Some great runners have gone the way of the Vicodin Retirement Plan...
Bo Jackson
Barry Foster

I think Fast Willy Parker is destined for greatness (not that he did very well last night...Davenport should have seen more action).

Back to the thread...
Harrison was a MONSTER!
Charlie Batch was awful...

Hopefully Peterson will play smart. So far he looks as though he has the brains to protect himself. And he is giving a good showing that he has the class to keep himself out of trouble.

Now if we can just get a real coach who has visited the Wizard and has a brain we would be able to maybe get us a QB and wins some more games.

As for the HRc fantasy league. how the hell did I get into 9th place and beat dB last week??????

I haven't touched my roster since pop's passed away. And it is only dB stating he is getting rolled that even made me look.

On the bright side though it made me go revamp my whole damn team. Shepardsam better watch out. He has a bunch of injured players and I'm gonna smack down the first place team.

Ya, I know, wishfull thinking. But a guy can dream can't he. :-)

anyone who cares about whether the patriots can be prevented from having a perfect season, i would be interested in hearing your thoughts on this:

www.sportingnews.com/your...ic.php?t=300984

this is not a steelers post. i want peeps to help me understand this article. i don't know how to think about matchups and game plans very well. if you were the steelers, how would you stop brady on december 9? what is the key, given the steelers skills and weaknesses? i would like to have something to 'look for' in the game. i want to understand this one as it unfolds, want to be able to see the thinking behind the two game plans.

Steelers have to stop the deep ball...The best way to stop Moss, as I have seen through is career is to be EXTREMELY physical with him in those first 5 yards for the first few plays, jam him hard, he dials it back a notch for the rest of the game...

That said, I didn't read the article...yet

I didn't read the article yet either but Brady has not be pressured all year, I say attack the QB, hard, hard, hard.

But don't worry about it, Miami will beat them in game 15 to once again be the team that beats an undefeated in last couple of weeks of the season, it's happened 4 or 5 times before.

The Dolphins have yet to threaten anybody's season.

The Steelers have had only marginal success against the Pats, but they have beaten them.

You're right, dB-Wan, that the key to stopping them is being physical in the secondary. Luckily the corners for the Steelers have stepped it up of late. No one could ever accuse the Steelers of not being a physical team, so hard hitting and swarming the pocket is critical. That's part of the 'problem' with Brady, he gets so much time to throw the ball. Penetration, and making him "sit down" a few times really changes his whole game. If you sack him more than twice, his game can be thrown off. Luckily, Harrison, Polumalu and Farrior are having a hell of a season.

I think the Steelers will need some of their trick plays to be dusted off. No team in the NFL has more, and no other team can execute them like the Steelers.
I just hope Tomlin didn't throw those out when he got Cowher's playbook.
