Trouble Recording With Lexicon Omega.

What annoys me with this is that it's worked just fine so many times in the past.

Everything is set properly on the interface. Phantom power is on.

Lexicon is selected as the recording device in Cool Edit. The track is armed for recording. Press record and nothing happens.

I use USB headphones. Suddenly they don't work. I tried recording with Audacity and it only records when the headphones are not plugged in, which does me no good.

I've been playing with this for two hours and accomplished nothing.

Any thoughts?

i'm gonna guess it's cuz you're using a USB interface (the lexicon) and USB headphones....

is it possible for you to monitor directly form the lexicon? this is what you should be doing.

I'll have to buy different headphones and try. In Cool Edit I can choose the Lexicon as the playback device. I'm not real confident it would work licket split since everyhting is a constant struggle.

The USB headphones worked with the Lexicon before. Many trimes, actually. I think there's a setting off somewhere, but where and what?

I have heard that on occasion the USB drivers can become confused. In other words it is possible that they are conflicting and now the USB headphone drivers are trying to be the input device. I'm not sure exactly how this happens but one thing to try to resolve it is to re-install the drivers for each device.

I have it working. The Lexicon has to be reset often. Too often for something I paid good money for. Aside from that, I just have to remind the computer and Cool Edit what input/ouput devices I want to use. Like you said, the headphones take over and I have to reset the device order. Not a big deal now that I figured it out.

This is right form the Lexicon page for the Omega.
