i'm working with my friend on a music project and he just got a mac book pro. we've recorded everything in acid 6.0 pro so far through my podxt live and he's using a line 6 toneport. are they any cross platform recording programs? we were just going to record separately and mix the tracks down to send to each other and mix on my desktop when we can get together, he's moving to a different town so were trying to keep this project going.

Aug 26, 2007 12:50 am Cubase 4 has what they call "Windows and Mac OS X Universal Binary".
That'll work.
Not sure about any cheaper or free apps though. Someone here will known for sure.
Aug 26, 2007 11:11 am If you save each raw recorded track as a .wav file then they would be cross-platform. When you have all of the .wav files you can import them into your DAW program and mix away. That's how we've done collaborations around HRC.

Aug 26, 2007 09:15 pm Yep, Jim has it right if you don't want to spend anymore money. Simply export each track as a .wav file and your good to go. I don't think Acid will import .aiff files but if it does and your buddy can't use .wav files then your good to go that way as well.
Aug 26, 2007 10:54 pm thanks everyone, we were talking about just recording at the same tempo and swapping .wav files. he doesn't have the resources to mix or master anyway so the software really wouldn't be practical.
